Learn from Mary how to make decisions trusting in God.
Pope Francis
Dear families,
The month of May is dedicated to Mary. During May we remember the role she played in trusting God and raising Jesus. Mary was indeed a courageous woman and is a great inspiration for many. She was at times challenged while raising Jesus. He disappeared for a time only to be found in the temple. She tasked him at the Wedding of Cana with ensuring there was wine. She wept while he hung on the cross. Her dedication to raising her son under the most difficult of circumstances was an example of what it means to be truly devoted. May this month be a chance for you to connect back in with your faith and your devotion to your family.
Thank you to the P&F and volunteers who organised the Mother's day breakfast as well as those who organised and helped at the Mothers Day Stall. It was great to hear that it went so well and see so many families in attendance. I hope that you had a truly wonderful Mother’s Day weekend.
Thank you and God Bless,
This week staff have been working in stage groups focusing on Assessment in Mathematics and how they can assess the outcome in a way that ensures they are providing depth in the task in order to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their full capacity and understanding of the concept. Our next staff development day is Friday 7 June prior to the long weekend. On this day teachers will spend time moderating assessments and developing a shared understanding of what ongoing assessment looks like. Good quality assessment drives good quality teacher instruction and ensures that the children are engaging in tasks that move them in their learning growth. Mrs Claremont will be providing a segment in the newsletter with a simple game that can be played at home to support your children's mathematical skills. Please look out for it. Not only will playing a maths game provide great support in developing your child’s mathematical skills but it will be an opportunity to spend some time together.
Tell Them From Me
Last year we undertook the Tell Them From Me survey for the first time. This is an annual survey that all schools in our diocese are participating in. Students, teachers and parents are asked to provide feedback on their experience of our school using the online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process. The survey closes at the end of May.
Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at St Paul’s Moss Vale.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You can access the link here:
Due to circumstances beyond our control the new winter skirt will not be available until Winter 2025. While we appreciate the current design has its limitations it is still available in large sizes. In the meantime girls do have the option of wearing pants. We have also approved for Whytes to restock the Navy sloppy Joe with the school emblem. This is to provide a cheaper alternative to the woolen jumper. The polar fleece jackets will still be available as an option. Whytes have an online ordering system and we encourage parents to access this service.
The presentation of students attending St.Paul’s is important, as the way students present themselves is a reflection of the pride they have in the school and themselves. It is hoped that the uniform standard is one we can all be proud of and which brings a positive response from parents, teachers and the wider local community. Parents' support in maintaining the school uniform requirements is very much appreciated.
All students are expected to wear the full, correct uniform at all times and maintain the uniform standard. The school uniform should be neat and tidy and all students' clothing should be clearly marked with the student’s name. It is hoped that the senior students of the school would set the uniform standard for the rest of the school and make the wearing of the correct uniform their responsibility.
Please note we are adding another unisex jumper option in. Its a navy blue sloppy joe with the school logo that Whytes will have in stock in the next few weeks.

Have you thought? The Spirit
We can sometimes regard Pentecost as the day the Holy Spirit came into the world. However, the Spirit had long been active in the world before this event. In fact, even the second verse of Genesis Chapter 1 tells us that the Spirit hovered over the waters. The Old Testament is filled with references in which ‘The Spirit of God came upon (him) with power’ and the Spirit was evident at Jesus’ baptism and throughout the gospels. Jesus is frequently described as being ‘filled with the Spirit’. So, from the very beginning of creation the Spirit has moved in the world and continues to energise it today.

Presentations at the School Hall
On Wednesday June 12th, we will be hosting two presentations in the School Hall.
The 'Think U Know' presentation will run from 6pm to 7pm.
Senior Constable Rachel Kennedy will present: what young people see, say and do online, the challenges they may face and how to report and get help if things go wrong. This will be an adult only forum as it will touch on sensitive topics.
The 'Scam' presentation will from from 7:15pm to 8:15pm.
Hosted by BDCU: It will touch on how to spot a SCAM and what to do if you get scammed. Please mark this date in your diary now as this is a must attend event.
These presentations are parent only as sensitive material will be discussed.
See attached flyers for more information.
The dental checks will not take place until the end of September.
We we have a company called Lunch Bunch Canteens who will be fulfilling our lunch orders each Tuesday and Thursday.
Please find the menu below and how to order details.
Dear Brain Busters,
St.Paul’s would like to invite you to enjoy some Brain Busting Mathematics Activities that you and the whole family can get involved in .
Over the coming term, there will be a game, task or activity idea for you to engage in.
There is no expectation for you to participate, rather an opportunity to explore mathematical concepts in a fun and interactive way.
The equipment you need to play the games is usually found around the home or can be picked up for a small cost at a dollar shop.
Enjoy the Brain Busting!
