Ps 39:7-11
Dear Families,
Last Friday staff attended our school Spirituality day. This day was held at Jamberoo Abbey and led by Gary Quinn who is part of the Spiritual Formation Team CEDoW. Gary led us through a journey of familiarising ourselves with Bishop Brian’s decree Bearers of Christ’s Love Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong. We then spent time discussing our school values (Spirituality, Respect, Determination, Kindness, and Community) and what they mean for us at St Paul’s Moss Vale. The day was also a chance for staff to engage with their own spirituality and spend time in prayer and discernment. As educators in a Catholic school it is vital that we have time to nourish our faith. The spirituality day is a chance to do this free of interruption.
Term 1 has been productive and busy and we have achieved great things. The children have a lot to be proud of and the sense of community on Cross Country day was wonderful. A special thanks must go to our Year 6 leaders who ran the cake stall in order to raise funds for their end of year gift. This was a great addition to the cross country day. They also helped around the course and were always willing to step in when we needed assistance. Our Year 6 leaders demonstrated what it means to be a part of the St Paul's Community and we appreciate the support of their families to be able to achieve this.
I would like to sincerely wish you all well over the holiday break. I hope this time is a great opportunity to spend time together as a family and to rest. Rest is vital for growth. Our students have worked hard but now need to rest in order to come back refreshed and ready to learn in Term 2. Staff use this time to regroup, revise and plan for the term ahead. They have been able to get to know your children and develop an understanding of them as learners. On the first day back in Term 2 staff will spend time unpacking the Mathematics syllabus, developing their knowledge in pedagogical practices that will enhance the children’s mathematical understanding.
We look forward to seeing your children on Tuesday 30 April.
Thank you and God Bless,
Collecting other students
If you would like your child collected by another parent at the school, please phone the office before 2:30pm to give permission and so a note can be passed on to their teacher to inform them.
CEDoW Mental Health Support Services Survey
The CEDoW Mental Health Support Services Review is an important initiative, aiming to enhance the
wellbeing services we provide. With the collaboration of Altum Counselling and Consulting Pty Ltd, we are conducting a thorough evaluation of our current services and support systems.
This short survey, which takes only 8-15 minutes to complete, will be conducted with the utmost respect for your time and privacy. Your anonymous contributions will play a crucial role in improving the support systems within our schools, which will have lasting benefits for both students and staff.
We thank you for your active participation. Together, we will strengthen the foundations of support and wellbeing within the CEDoW community.
Survey completion date: 16 April
Holy Week Experience
Walking in the footsteps of Jesus was a wonderful immersive experience and very reflective for the children. Thank you to Ms duBois and her helpers for creating such a prayerful experience
Information for Parents Discharging from Hosptial
Student Update Reports / Parent Teacher Interviews
On Thursday the children will bring home an update report. This report is a check in for your child regarding their progress. At the end of Term 2 we will provide a full academic report for Semester 1. This year we are bringing the parent teacher interviews forward to Week 1 of Term 2. This is so parents and carers can check in with the teacher regarding their child’s learning earlier rather than wait until the end of semester report. All families are encouraged to make a booking to see the class teacher during this time. Bookings will be made open on compass by the end of the week.
Parent Forum - Think u Know Social Media and your Children
On Wednesday 12 June at 6pm we will be holding a parent forum. This forum will be presented by Senior Constable Rachel Kennedy on social media and how parents can support their children in this space. The 1 hour session will cover: what young people see, say and do online, the challenges they may face and how to report and get help if things go wrong. This will be an adult only forum as it will touch on sensitive topics. Please mark it in your diary now as this is a must attend event if you want to support your children in this space.

Dear Families,
I would like to thank Leanne from Gubbins Mitre 10 Moss Vale, who has been instrumental and supportive by donating many items for the school's gardening group. Leanne (an ex-parent of St Paul's) was unable to attend our school assembly, so I was happy to present a Certificate of Appreciation to Leanne in her office last week. Thank you very much Leanne, your help has been invaluable.
Please find some information brochures for community groups and wellbeing support.
I am also contemplating the cultural theme for our next morning tea, if any family would like to be involved and share some traditional food, please give me a call through the school office or via email below.
Have a wonderful holiday, and I look forward to welcoming new families and seeing everyone back after break. Have fun and stay safe!
