From the Principal - Mrs Katie Browne
Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in; he saw and he believed.
John 20:1-9
Dear Families,
We have reached the end of Term 1. It has been very busy yet productive. As we emerge from Lent into Easter we are reminded of the times when we have faced challenges or difficulties and been able to reflect on them and learn from them and truly experience our own Easter Sunday. I pray that this Easter season provides comfort to families and a sense of peace and the inspiration of the risen Lord helps you to see the Easter Sundays you have experienced in your life.
I would like to thank the community for your ongoing support this year. Being able to hold our cross country carnival last week was a truly joyous occasion and the first time we could hold a sporting event on school grounds where the community could come and watch in many years. I would particularly like to acknowledge all our Year 6 students who demonstrated what it truly means to be a leader. They did not hesitate to offer to help get ready, organise the children for their races and lead their house teams.
I wish all our families a blessed Easter and a wonderful holiday break. We look forward to Term 2 when the children return on Wednesday 26 April the day after ANZAC day.
Thank you and God Bless,
Student Update Reports
These reports are a check in report to let you know how your child is tracking so far this year. They will be sent home with your children this week. On some reports teachers have requested that you book a meeting with them in Term 2. This can be achieved by contacting the office to make a time that is mutually convenient for both of you. If you have any concerns about your child’s learning and wellbeing please contact your child’s teacher.
Staff Development Day Monday 24 April
Staff will engage in work on mathematics on this day following on from the recent professional development that we undertook in Launch, Explore, Summarise and Review. This work is part of our focus this year on improving teacher practice and student learning in mathematics. Students return to school on Wednesday 26 April. Tuesday 25 April is ANZAC day.
ANZAC Day
We will be participating in the March on ANZAC day. Please see the letter for further details.
Open to Learning
Mrs Browne and Mr Farrugia have been attending a course called Open to Learning Monday and Tuesday of this week. This course is aimed at leadership and was postponed from 2022. In their absence Mrs Sandra Hogan has been filling in as the relief principal.
Personal Planning Meetings
Thank you to our families who have attended PP meetings this term. They will continue tomorrow. PP meetings are only required for students who have a personalised plan. We will contact you should your child ever require a plan. The next round of Personal Planning meetings will take place toward the end of Term 3 however families may organise a meeting at any time through the office.
Leadership Team Day
The leadership team will be holding a planning meeting on Thursday 6 April. This is to prepare for the cyclic inquiry that will take place in Term 3.
P&F
Thank you to all our volunteers who gave up their Saturday to be on the gates for Brigadoon. Your support in raising these funds for our school is greatly appreciated. Some of these funds will go toward the purchase of STEM equipment for our school.
From the REC - Ms Catherine du Bois
Sacramental Program
Congratulations to the students who made their First Reconciliation last Friday. Please
continue to pray for these students and their families. In Term 2, we will hold the First Holy Communion Program. Please see important dates:
First Holy Communion (4 weeks): Sunday 18th June.
Enrolments: 30th April – 14th May
Class dates to be confirmed early in Term 2
Holy Week
The school performed a Holy Week play on Tuesday the 4 th April to reflect on the last days of Jesus’ life. All students and staff were involved and worked hard to make this a very moving liturgy. Thank you to everyone for your wonderful efforts and for all who attended this event.
As we draw to the end of term, I would like to wish all families a holy, safe and enjoyable Easter.
Thank you
Catherine du Bois

Winter Uniform – Term 2
Just a reminder that students will wear the winter uniform throughout Term 2 and Term 3. With the weather now turning cool, we want the children to be warm and comfortable. Our uniforms are available through Whytes in Argyle Street. Hats and accessories are available from NSW Uniforms (online) Ethne Drew. Our uniform details including contact details for our suppliers are available under the “Parents” tab on the school website.
Kindergarten Enrolments are open for 2024
If you have a child who is ready for school in 2024 or you know someone who has, our enrolment period is open. We have had strong demand for places in recent years for the limited spaces we have available. Applications can be picked up from the school office or downloaded from the school website. The first round of interviews will be conducted in Term 2. The first round offers of enrolment will be made at the end of Term 2.
Medication
Only medication that is prescribed by a doctor is permitted to be dispensed at School upon completion of a “Consent to Dispense Medication” form which is available from the office. The form and the medication are to be given to the office staff in the original packaging with the student’s name and dosage. We are not permitted to administer Panadol unless prescribed by a doctor and the necessary form completed. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
If your child is Asthmatic or Anaphylactic please ensure the necessary plan has been forwarded to the office along with any medication so that it can be processed. We also need a "Consent to Dispense Medication" form to be completed.
Payment of School fees
See document from CEO below:
Injuries
If a student has sustained an injury please inform the school office as we have to do a care plan and risk assessment. Please also forward any ED report or doctor letter as well.
Leave for students
If a student is going on leave for 10 days or more, parents will need to apply in writing and in advance for this leave.
Withdrawal
If you intend to withdraw your child from the school, the withdrawal form is available from the office. We currently have a waitlist, so advance notification would be appreciated.
