“Master, you gave me five talents. See, I have made five more.”
Matthew 25:20
(From the Gospel of the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary time, Year B)
Dear Families,
This Sunday's reading is the parable of the talents. This parable is a call to faithful stewardship. We are asked to take care of our own talents that God has given us and to put them to good use. We all have talents and for some people it is easy to see what their talents are, however for others it is not always obvious and it can take time as they grow before they really discover their talents. It is important as adults that we nurture our talents and we model this for our children. God has blessed all of us with unique talents and it is important we grow them and use them not only for ourselves but for each other.
God Bless,
Katie Browne
Principal

Remembrance Day
Thursday 11 November is Remembrance day. We will mark this day with a small liturgy and 1 minutes silence.
Hatching Chicks
This week there is great excitement as we watch chicks hatching from chicken eggs and hopefully by next week some ducklings. There have been some great conversations occurring around the incubator and wonderful stories being written in the infant classes.
Kindergarten Play Transition and Orientation Meeting
We will be holding a Kindergarten Play Transition over two sessions on Thursday 25 November. Session 1: 9:30 - 10:30 and Session 2: 11:30 - 12:30. At 5pm there will be a zoom orientation meeting. Current restrictions mean that only one fully vaccinated parent or carer can attend the play sessions. A letter has been sent home today to our 2022 Kindergarten families explaining the details and how to book in for a play session. We thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.
REPORTS
Due to the disruption caused by COVID-19, adjustments to curriculum have been made throughout Terms 3 and 4. Focus for Semester 2 has been on student wellbeing and learning, and priority has been given to Religious Education, English and Mathematics. As a result of this extended period of Remote Learning and the lack of opportunities for teachers to provide quality assessment tasks to determine student learning attainment and/or growth, student reporting in Semester 2, 2021 will look a little different to the one you received earlier this year.
This Report provides information about your child’s participation in learning during this time of extended Remote Learning. Therefore there will be no A - E gradings. Reports will be released to parents via COMPASS on Friday 10 December 2021. I would like to extend my thanks to you, the parents and carers, for your ongoing support and commitment to your child’s learning through these unique times.

Reminder to Year 2 parents to complete the “Insight” survey via Compass with regard to the iPad to be ordered for their child for 2022. Please complete the survey by 15th November to ensure delivery of the iPads by 2022. If you need assistance, please speak to Mrs Norman.
SCHOOL PHOTO DAY Tuesday 23 November 2021
The School Photo Day will be on Tuesday 23 November. If you have already returned your form in Term 1, the school office will still have these forms and payments so you don't need to do anything. For those of you that haven't returned your form, please send in your order envelope to your child’s class teacher. There is an individual order form as well as a sibling order form. These have been sent out via the Compass Alert. Unfortunately, photos will not be processed and sent to the school by the end of this year, so they will be distributed in 2022. Full Summer Uniform is to be worn on the day.
ILLNESS
If you child is unwell, even with mild symptoms, please do not send them to school. If your child does have a covid test, please email through a copy of their result to the school office so that it can be uploaded to their file. Unfortunately, at this stage, rapid antigen tests are not an acceptable alternative as we cannot be sure of their accuracy. The student will still need to have a standard COVID-19 test.
PERMISSION NOTES
Permission notes will now be issued via Compass. To give your child permission to attend an event you will need to access the Compass browser. If you are required to provide consent for an event, it will appear under your Tasks. Once you have provided consent, you will no longer have any Tasks to complete. All the information with regard to the event is available via Compass.
