“For they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put everything she had, her whole living.”
Mark 12:44
(From the Gospel of the 32nd Sunday in Ordinary time, Year B)
Dear Families,
The Gospel is challenging us today to think about what we can do for others. It is not about money but about the little things that can make another person's life better. Simply being kind by taking the time to check if they are ok can make a big difference in a person's life especially when they are feeling down. Last week for World Teachers Day we were thrilled to receive such beautiful messages from our families. It certainly made everyone’s day. Thank you.

This week we celebrate the feasts of All Saints and All Souls day. Both feast days encourage us to think about people who have done great things for others. Mary Mackillop was famous for saying, “Never see a need without doing something about it.” This was one of Mr O’Brien’s favourite sayings. Traditionally we would have invited our Grand friends to come to school for All Saints day and spend time with the children, celebrating mass, seeing what they are learning and enjoying a picnic. COVID has continued to prevent us from doing these wonderful community events. Hopefully we will be able to hold Grand friends day next year.
On the feast of All Souls day we remember those who were dear to us and have died. We pray especially for Mr O’Brien and all the holy souls this week who were important people in our lives and who we are so grateful to have walked with them on their journey no matter how long or short it was.
Finally I would like to say I am truly humbled to have been appointed as the Principal of St Paul’s Moss Vale. I have a deep affection for this community and look forward to working with you as we continue to support our students in their spiritual and academic growth.
God Bless,
Katie Browne
Principal

FROM THE ACTING ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Last Friday we celebrated WORLD TEACHERS DAY!
There was a display of staff profiles that captured their talents and skills.
The display was enjoyed by all our students who loved seeing their own teacher acknowledged in this display.
We would like to thank our school community for sending messages of appreciation and gratitude. You have made us feel extra special.
Please enjoy the video created while in remote learning and the appreciation and love our students feel for their teachers.
LOLS: Lessons of Liturgy and Scripture
Unfortunately, due to the current Covid restrictions in place, we were unable to invite special guests in for Grandfriend’s Day this term. Alternatively, a LOLS video dedicated to Grandparents was created. Please click on the link below to view the video and see some beautiful photos of our students with their grandparents, plus some lovely tributes. Thank you to all the students, teachers and families that made this video possible.

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY Tuesday 23 November 2021
The School Photo Day will be on Tuesday 23 November. If you have already returned your form in Term 1, the school office will still have these forms and payments so you don't need to do anything. For those of you that haven't returned your form, please send in your order envelope to your child’s class teacher. There is an individual order form as well as a sibling order form. These have been sent out via the Compass Alert. Unfortunately, photos will not be processed and sent to the school by the end of this year, so they will be distributed in 2022. Full Summer Uniform is to be worn on the day.
ILLNESS
If you child is unwell, even with mild symptoms, please do not send them to school. If your child does have a covid test, please email through a copy of their result to the school office so that it can be uploaded to their file. Unfortunately, at this stage, rapid antigen tests are not an acceptable alternative as we cannot be sure of their accuracy. The student will still need to have a standard COVID-19 test.
PERMISSION NOTES
Permission notes will now be issued via Compass. To give your child permission to attend an event you will need to access the Compass browser. If you are required to provide consent for an event, it will appear under your Tasks. Once you have provided consent, you will no longer have any Tasks to complete. All the information with regard to the event is available via Compass.
