“ And Jesus said to him, '' What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master, let me receive my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.”
Mark 10:52
(From the Gospel of the 30th Sunday in Ordinary time, Year B)
Dear Families,
Once again Jesus is telling us to rely on our faith. It is our faith that will lead us where we need to go and be. It is our faith that will support us in these difficult times and renew us. This week we saw the return of Kindergarten and Year 1 to face to face teaching. The delight on the children’s faces as they arrived was beautiful. We look forward to the full return of all our students as we prepare for the end of the year. I would like to thank the staff for their dedication during remote learning in keeping learning going and supporting supervision at school. I would also like to thank you for your support in understanding the challenges remote learning can bring and working with us to ensure the best possible progress for your children while keeping everyone safe.
Return to School
25 Oct - Week 4: All students return to face to face learning. Kindergarten to Year 6.
It is expected that all children return to school. Remote learning will not continue from Week 4. Please see the attached fact sheet regarding compulsory school attendance.
Update on Face Mask wearing - Under Level three plus restrictions children are encouraged to wear a face mask in the classroom. Teachers and students are not required to wear a face mask outdoors. Parents and carers are required to wear a face mask if they need to come into the school but are no longer required to wear a face mask for drop off and pick up if they are outdoors.
We appreciate it is difficult for families to know what to do around face masks especially as the rules keep changing and with short notice. We will do our best to keep you informed of changes as we are updated by the system.
Wellbeing survey
Thank you to the families that have already completed the wellbeing survey. Your feedback has been very positive and constructive. As a school we will look carefully at the information and ensure we take on board suggestions and ideas for future planning.
If you have not yet had the chance to complete the survey it would be great if you could take a few minutes to provide us with some feedback. This survey has been de-identified and is confidential. We are not collecting email addresses however if you are at all concerned about your child’s well being then please contact your child’s teacher.
Care Packs
If you didn’t get a care pack when you collected your child’s remote learning materials, send your child to the office, when they are back at school, and we will send it home with them.
Book Parade
As we missed our book parade in Term 3 due to remote learning we will be holding the book parade in Week 7 on Thursday 18 November. Under current restrictions parents will not be able to attend however we will update you shoud this change. If parents are unable to attend we will video each class group and share that with you
PP Meetings
This week we have held our Personal Planning Meetings via Zoom. Thank you to our families who were required to attend. When we work in partnership we ensure the best possible education for your child.
God Bless

Alternatively, a LOLS video dedicated to Grandparents will be released in Week 5. If you have a photo of your child/ren with their Grandparent/s and would like to include it in this LOLS video, please email the photo to duboisc01@dow.catholic.edu.au by Thursday 28th October. This episode of LOLS will be shared on our school Facebook page and on Google Classrooms.
Crazy Hat Day – Tuesday 2nd November

We are delighted to have everyone back at school from next week. As a way of celebrating, we will be having a crazy hat day on Tuesday 2nd of November. Students and teachers are invited to wear a crazy hat or headpiece. It could be a hat you have at home, something borrowed, or you could even use your creative ideas to make your own crazy hat. There are some great ideas online. The purpose of this day is to have fun, so no monetary donations are necessary.
Thank you

Dear Parishioners,
Now that the state has reached 80% fully vaccinated, the Dioceses of Wollongong has released the attached roadmap for opening of our churches.
As per the announcement by the NSW Premier our churches are now at Stage 2, meaning our doors can reopen to ALL (VACCINATED & NOT VACCINATED) the weekend of 23-24 October, subject to certain restrictions:
1. the 4 sq metre rule applies
2. masks still must be worn inside the church
3. no congregational singing allowed
4. QR Registration is required or a sign in sheet must be completed.
Please note, the following will apply to our parish churches:
St Paul’s Moss Vale: ALL Masses will be celebrated in the School Hall, as we are able to accommodate more parishioners ie 88 people per Mass. QR Registration required or sign in sheet STILL MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE ENTERING THE HALL.
St Peter’s Burrawang: 30 people allowed per Mass, hence pre-registration will be required. Email to be sent to mossvale@dow.org.au or by phoning the parish office on 4868-1931 confirming each person’s name and contact phone number. All emails must be received no later than the Friday 1pm before each weekend. QR Registration required or sign in sheet STILL MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE ENTERING THE CHURCH.
St Brigid’s Bundanoon: 30 people allowed per Mass, hence pre-registration will be required. Email to be sent to stbrigidsbundanoon@gmail.com confirming each person’s name and contact phone number. All emails must be received no later than the Friday 1pm before each weekend. QR Registration required or sign in sheet STILL MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE ENTERING THE CHURCH
Once numbers are reached at each church (especially St Peter’s & St Brigid’s) you will be asked to attend another Mass.
I understand that this may be an inconvenience to some parishioners, especially for those from our station churches, however I am sure that you are thankful, as am I, that we can come together again for Mass. Please be patience and kind to one another, as we work our way down this road map back to some sort of “normal”
This news has come a week earlier than expected so please spread the word.

These have been sent out via the Compass Alert. Unfortunately, photos will not be processed and sent to the school by the end of this year, so they will be distributed in 2022. PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES BY INSTALMENT
EXISTING FAMILIES IN OUR SCHOOL WITH INSTALMENTS
If you are currently paying by instalments there is no need to complete another Request to Pay by Instalment as your request carries over from year to year unless you wish to amend the frequency of your payments eg Weeky to Fortnightly, etc.
EXISTING FAMILIES IN OUR SCHOOL WITHOUT INSTALMENTS
If you would like to pay school fees by instalments in 2022 and have previously not taken up this option for payment, please complete a Request to Pay by Instalment Form which is available on the school’s website or from the school’s administration office. On completion of the request either email it to instalments@dow.catholic.edu.au or submit at the school office.
